During my time at Tomy I had the opportunity to work on concept logos for a line of baby products, The First Years. The First Years produces several products for babies ranging from sippy cups, teethers, to pacifiers. I worked alongside the product development team to focus on a new line of "sensory seeking" toys that would have three separate primary functions that pertain to the child's senses. The first, would be robot themed and focused on the dexterity of the child's hands, working on mobility and strengthening the coordination of the baby due to the toy's interchangable parts. The second, would be focused on the "nurturing" and soothing aspect, made with plush or silky fabrics to help soothe the baby and would follow a cuddly creature theme.
And thirdly, the last theme would be attention-seeking toys that would be visually stimulating and entertaining. The toys would be various different bugs that could buzz, light up, or make noises. I also explored a few design sippy cup designs while I helped the design team update and refresh existing packaging.
